Tree Sales a Success and Help Needed Monday @ Noon to cleanup lot!

Dec 22, 2003 As many of you have already heard, our tree sales for the year have closed with tremendous success. Many thanks go to each of you who have helped out this year. While the final figures have yet to be tallied, preliminaries show us with a $9,043 profit! While this is down nearly $800 from last year, we should be proud of ourselves… the initial cost of the trees was $1,900 more than last year!

A special word of thanks to all those who contributed in special ways to the program. First, to the Gray GOSTS who set up the lot and covered each of the weekday shifts. Secondly, to the Team Captains who E-mailed, wrote, or called their team members to come out and help. Thirdly, to Al Leightley and Paul Cooke for opening and closing the lot every day, as well as verifying sales and keeping the Officers appraised of the status. Also to Larry Gottschalk who provided guidance and advice to Steve Smith. And finally, but most definitely not least, to Steve Smith for all his efforts in coordinating this program. Despite being new to the Council, Steve did a phenomenal job in ordering the trees and lining up their delivery, assigning the shifts, and overseeing the entire operation. He has earned the sincerest gratitude of this Grand Knight and my staff, as well as the entire Council!

Now that the Grand Knights Kudos have been given the job is not finished until the Trailer is disassembled and the tree lot cleaned, lotsa help is need starting at noon today, Monday, to finish the Christmas Tree Program.
