Knight of the Year:

David Miller:

David has recently assumed the Fraternal Chairman where he keeps abreast of the needs of brother Knights. Almost immediately he has contacted various Knights in need and communicated these needs to the Council. In order to aide in the communication effort he established a Web Page for Council Knights in need.

Additionally, as the Church Activity Director he continues to promote the Abortion Clinic Rosary held every third Saturday of each month. And he continues to schedule the very successful and very well received Millennium Hour of Prayer program. On a quarterly basis he coordinates the Council Corporation Communion Mass for deceased members of the Council. Additionally, he schedules the Memorial Mass for the widows of deceased members. During Christmas he coordinates the blessing and singing of hymns for the Parish Crèche erected by the Council.

As a member of the Admissions Committee, he can be counted on to ask informed questions and pass his opinion on new candidates. A member of the Parish Breakfast team, he assists with any task required to enhance its the successful completion. Dave can be found participating in every Council activity as time will allow him. A valuable member of the Council, he has earned the recognition as the Knight of the Year for Fraternal Year 2000 - 2001.

Family of the Year:

Tim and Erin Cooke:

Tim and Erin are enthusiastic members of the council and can be found at many of the Council Events. A self starter, Tim has volunteered to coordinate existing activities and has initiated many more. As the Chairman of the Membership Committee Tim coordinates new candidate interviews with the Admissions Committee and schedules them for their First Degree. Following the First Degree Tim schedules candidates for their Second and Third Degrees. To assist in the council recruiting efforts he holds Open Houses for prospective Knights. As the Chancellor he has avidly assumed his responsibilities and due to his work the
Council is currently on track for Star Council. As the Chairmen of the VIP Club, he maintains the Council records for member recruiting efforts and updates the Council chart.

Tim and Erin give their time by helping to provide breakfast for Blood Donors at the Councils Quarterly Blood Drive. They happily volunteer their Sunday morning in assisting in the preparation and cooking breakfast to the Blood Donors. Tim has also developed and designed a Council web page that provides the dissemination of Council formation.

Further activities include, the Captain of the Council Softball team, helps with the Sale of Redskin raffle tickets by printing them, and coordinates trips to Orioles Baseball games. Tim is also the Coordinator for the Diocese of Arlington Sr. CYO Softball League. Other events he has coordinated are the highly successful community Crab Feast and the Council's St. Patrick's Day Party. Through his own initiative he has started a Council Golf tournament as a Community activity to help raise funds. One of the Councils largest fund raiser is the sale of Christmas Trees and Tim is the Captain of one team.

Tim and Erin's enthusiasm for the Knights of Columbus and Father Diamond Council are evident in their active and eager participation in the Council events.
