Ride to Mass need for Elderly parishioner in Kamp Washington
Jun 18, 2004"I had a visit this morning from an older lady who is a resident of The Gardens (Assisted Living Center) and her sister who is visiting. The lady had serious eye surgery and, though quite ambulatory, cannot see well enough to drive or to read. Before surgery she was a Lay Eucharistic Minister and used to bring Holy Communion to nursing homes. Now she would love to be able to attend Mass, but has no way of getting here to church on Sundays.
Would you know of anyone, in the Knights or elsewhere, who lives in the Kamp Washington area and who might not mind once or twice a month stopping by the Gardens and picking her up to take her to Mass? It could be whichever Mass they would normally attend. It obviously means a great deal to her and any thoughts you might have would be most appreciated.
Thanks for any help you might be able to provide."
