Feb 10, 2007Our collection effort during the Right to Life March this past Monday was a huge success because of the nice turnout of 25 Brother Knights and 3 spouses to help. The collection netted a record $25,890 and a $50 Canadian Dollar! This was the 14th year that we have been collecting, this income exceeded the previous largest total by about $1,000 which was in 2002.
The effort was headed up by Mike Plumstead. The collectors beside Mike and his wife Li were, Bob Eckert, Bob Bilko, Jim Caputo, Allen Dobey, Frank Bohan,George Schuld, Gerry and Elaine Pepin, Allan Botticelli, Tom Gross, Larry Gottschalk, Tim Tilson, Dick Powers, Dennis Makurat, Dan Purtill, Jack Cotner, Tim Hogan, Dennis Riley and Sam Stafford. Greg Skorupski who again this year drove Nellie Gray, the President on the March for Life, from the March to the Supreme Court Building and Tom Hogan who is involved with the Virginia Knights of Columbus effort supporting the March.
Also, thanks to Mary Lou Gross, Ben Schaefer and Carlos Jaramillo who came after the March to help Hank Urban and a lot of the Collectors to count the monies. A huge thanks to all who participated in this most successful effort to collect and count the monies which goes to help pay for this annual Right to Life March, a job well done.
