His Eminence Donald Cardinal Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington, will be the principal celebrant of the Mass. His Excellency Archbishop Charles J. Chaput of Philadelphia will be the homilist. The Apostolic Nuncio (Vatican Ambassador) to the United States, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, will concelebrate and deliver a message from our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI. The Mass will be broadcast live nationwide on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).
We would be most grateful for your presence at the Basilica for the Closing Mass for the Fortnight for Freedom to stand in witness and pray for the protection of religious liberty! If you are unable to join us in person, we ask that you to continue to join us in prayer.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has asked us to observe two weeks where we are called to both prayer for our country and education on issues important to the Catholic Church and our country.
