At its 11 August 2007 meeting, the Board of Directors of KOVAR approved the awarding of a Columbian Exposition Silver Half Dollar to certain donors. These coins were created to celebrate Columbus’s discovery of the Americas and the 1892-93 World’s Fair in Chicago. Minted in 1892 and 1893, these coins feature the portrait of Columbus on the face and the Santa Maria on the obverse.
The first 100 Knights of Columbus who select KOVAR as a beneficiary of at least $500 ($20 per week) through the Combined Federal Campaign or United Way Campaign or a cash donation mailed to KOVAR will be given a Columbian Half Dollar. These collector coins will be mailed to the donor upon receipt of a copy of the donation form. All coins are donated and will not decrease funds to God’s Special People.
